Supplies:
*Peach (I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease in Fisherman)
Less than 1 skein, or Color of your
choice.
*Red (I used Vickie Howell for Caron
SHEEP(ISH) in the color RED(ISH))
Less than 1 Skein, or color of your
choice.
*Purple (I used Red Heart Shimmer in
Purple)
Less than 1 Skein, or color of your
choice.
*Dark Green (I used Patons Metallic
Green)
Less than 1 Skein, or color of your
choice.
*Light Green (I used Bernat Baby
Coordinates in Iced Mint)
Less than 1 Skein, or color of your
choice.
*Size U.S. E or 4 (3.50 mm) crochet
hook or whichever hook you prefer in amigurumi. The smaller the
better!
*Scissors
*Yarn Needle
*Stitch Marker
* 6mm/.24 IN Black Safety Eyes
*Polyfil/Fiberfil for stuffing
Gauge: As small as you can make it! She was about 6 1/2 inches tall!

SC = single crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet

Head
Rnd 1: In Peach, make a magic ring and
work 5 SC in the ring, do not join, work as continuous rounds, use you stitch marker to mark the end of each rnd. (We are
starting at the top of her head)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each stitch, repeat
around (10 SC)
Rnd 3: SC in next st, 2 SC in next st,
repeat around (15 SC)
Rnd 4: SC in next 2 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (20 SC)
Rnd 5: SC in next 3 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (25 SC)
Rnd 6: SC in next 4 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (30 SC)
Rnd 7: SC in next 5 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (35 SC)
Rnd 8: SC in next 6 sts, 2 SC in next

the next st (*Yo and insert the hook into the st, pull up a look, yo,
pull through 2 loops* repeat 4 more times, yo, pull through all loops
on your hook), SC in next 22 sts (45 sts)
Rnd 17: SC around (45 SC)
Rnd 18: SC in next 7 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (40 SC)
Rnd 19: SC in next 6 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (35 SC)
Rnd 20: SC in next 5 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (30 SC) I embroidered my mouth around rows 19 and 20,
and added Safety eyes roughly 3 rows above the nose, 9 sts or so
apart.
Rnd 21: SC in next 4 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (25 SC)
Rnd 22: SC in next 3 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (20 SC) Begin Stuffing head.
Rnd 23: SC in next 2 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (15 SC)
Rnd 24: SC in next st, sc2tog, repeat
around (10 SC)
Rnd 25: Sc2tog around 5 sc (5 SC) Sew
up your hole and hide remaining string.
Wig Cap
Rnd 1: In Red, make a magic ring and
work 5 SC in the ring, do not join, work as continuous rounds, use you stitch marker to mark the end of each rnd.
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each stitch, repeat
around (10 SC)
Rnd 3: SC in next st, 2 SC in next st,
repeat around (15 SC)
Rnd 4: SC in next 2 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (20 SC)
Rnd 5: SC in next 3 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (25 SC)
Rnd 6: SC in next 4 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (30 SC)
Rnd 7: SC in next 5 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (35 SC)
Rnd 8: SC in next 6 sts, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (40 SC)
Rnd 9: DC around (40 DC)
Leave a long tail at the end for sewing
onto the head. Thread hair through the cap to make the hair, and
style as you wish! I folded a piece in half, and knotted it to the inside of the cap, and thread it through the cap to the outside, that way you don't see any knots!
Arms (make 2)
Rnd 1: In Peach, make a magic ring and
work 6 SC in the ring, do not join. (We are beginning at the bottom
of the hand)
Rnd 2: Sc in the next st, 2 SC in next
st, repeat around (9 SC)
Rnd 3: SC in the next st, Sc2tog,
repeat around (6 SC)
Rnds 4-10: SC around (6 SC)
Fasten off and leave a long enough tail
to attach to your body.
Torso
Rnd 1: In peach, make a magic ring and
work 6 SC in the ring, do not join. (We are beginning at the bottom of her torso)
Rnd 2: 2 SC in each st, repeat around
(12 SC)
Rnd 3: SC in next st, 2 SC in next st,
repeat around (18 SC)
Rnd 4-10: SC around (18 SC)
Fasten off and leave a long long long
tail to attach it to your head.
Sea Shell Top
In Purple, Ch 4
Row 1: In 2nd ch from hook (SC, 5 HDC,
SC), continuing into 4th ch from hook, (SC, 5 HDC, SC) to make the
top. Fasten off.
Reattaching with a sl st to the back of
the top, ch approx 14 chs or until the chs reach around Mermaid's
torso. Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing her top to her
body.
Tail
Leaving a long tail to sew onto your
torso, in Dark Green ch 18 join with a sl st, ch1
Rnds 1-8: SC around (18 SC)
Rnd 9: SC in next 4 sts, sc2tog, repeat
around (15 SC)
Rnd 10: SC around (15 SC)
Rnd 11: SC in next 3 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (12 SC)
RND 12: SC around (12 SC)
RND 13: SC in next 2 sts, sc2tog,
repeat around (9 SC)
RND 14: SC around (9 SC)
Rnd 15: SC in next st, sc2tog, repeat
around (6 SC)
Rnd 16: Sc2tog around (3 SC)
Rnd 17: Sc3tog, fasten off. Hide your
tail.
Waist Border
Starting on the ch row of your tail
(before row 1), in the middle back, in light green, 2 DC in 1 st, DC
in next 3 sts, HDC in next 2 sts, 2 HDC in next st, SC in next 4 sts,
2 HDC in next st, HDC in next 2 sts, DC in next 3 sts, 2 DC in last
st, join ends and hide tails. (22 STS)
Fins (make 2)
In Light Green ch 9
Row 1: SC in second ch from hook, HDC
in next st, DC in next 3 sts, HDC in next st, SC in next st, 4 SC in
last ch and turn 180 degrees to crochet on the other side of your chain, SC in next ch, HDC in next CH, DC in next
3 chs, HDC in next ch, SC in last ch. (18 sts)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew
onto the bottom of your tail.
