Crochet Whisper from Yo-Kai Watch!

Whisper!

My oldest son loves all things Yo-Kai.  Since I have already made him Jibanyan, it was time to make Whisper!  This pattern may be messy and has only been tested by me, so if anything is confusing, feel free to ask or help correct my pattern! Thanks, Natasha (mnopxs2).

I used all worsted weight yarn (you may use whatever you wish tho)  Feel free to use whatever colors you wish, I am just sharing the yarn I used. If you want I can look up the specific yarns I used for each color; I just used yarn I had at home.

Colors:
White (Body/Eyes)
Black (Eyes/Teeth)
Blue (Mouth)

Size E-4/3.50mm crochet hook
Polyfil for stuffing
6mm/.24 IN Black Safety Eyes
Scissors
Yarn Needle

*He came out about 6 inches tall for me, but that will all depend on how tight or loose you crochet :)

Abbreviations:
ch = chain stitch
st = stitch
SC = single crochet
SC2tog = single crochet 2 stitches together (sc decrease)
sl st = slip stitch

EYES

In White, make a magic ring and work 6 SC in the ring. Fasten Off leaving tails to attach to the black piece (Make 2)

In Black, ch 7.
Rnd 1: 4 SC in 2nd ch from hook, SC in next 4 sts, 8 SC in end ch, working along the opposite side now, SC in next 4 sts, 4 SC in last ch, Sl St to first SC, (24 SC) leave a long tail for sewing onto your head.

Attach your Safety Eyes through the holes on the White pieces and through the holes on the Black pieces together.  I sewed my White pieces onto my black, but you don't have to.  Then sew the entire eyes piece to the body.  I hope the picture does a better job of explaining it!

MOUTH

In Blue I chained 2 strips of 15 chains and sewed onto his body, for teeth I embroidered some black thread through.  You can change this however you like!

  1. I am desperately looking for a pattern for Dimmy. If you are able to provide one or know of how to get one I'd be extremely grateful. Whisper and Jibanyan are fantastic by the way.

      Let me know if it turned out okay and if you need any help with it (since I was the only one to test it)

    2. That is fantastic!!! You're ability to create patterns is freaking amazing! I'm so straight on this. I'll let you know how I go. Again, cudos. That is soooooo way much better than what I would've come up with.

  2. I cannot seem to find one online! I wonder if he would be taller or shorter than these guys if I made one. What do you think?

    1. I'm really not sure. I think I'm going to have to hunt down the episode he features in for comparison. I did have a brilliant idea (I think so anyway!), he very much resembles a carrot in shape so I thought I would find a pattern of that and add the arms and little bottom wiggle from your Whisper pattern.

    2. That is super brilliant! I sketched out a Dimmy pattern at work on Saturday, but I haven't sat down to crochet yet.

    3. On closer inspection I think that instead of adding the tail from Whisper that I need to cut the carrot pattern a few rows short and attach to a flat puddle shaped bottom. By the sounds of it your creation will definitely by finished way before mine (my crocheting discipline is not as good as my intentions) but I would be extremely interested to see yours when complete. Will you be posting the pattern?

  4. Thanks so much for posting these patterns. My little nephew who is turning 6 tomorrow is having a Yo-Kai Watch themed party. I cant wait to see him open my present with a homemade Jibanyan and Whisper. Again... thank you!!! These were fun to make and easy patterns to follow.. except Round 6 of Whispers tail. For some reason the wording kept confusing me, but I'm easily confused so, that's nothing new. :)

    1. Thank you so much for the feedback. I see that I did write that wrong. Thank you so much for letting me know. I love feedback, especially because I didn't have anyone test the patterns, I just posted them. I would love to see how yours turned out.
