Crochet Corner to Corner Graphghan based on the Kingkiller Chronicle Trilogy

Crochet Corner to Corner Graphghan based on the Kingkiller Chronicle Trilogy

Welcome Back Lovelies!  It has been a very long time since I poured out my 9 week journey of C2C Kingkillerness.  If there is anything I know, it's that fans of the chronicle are very patient people.  So I hope you understand why it took so long for me to share with you the finished project.

A few hiccups happened.  First, I put another C2C graphghan on my bed for sleeping.  Every night when I tugged it up to my heads, strings would pop out and tails became exposed.  I discovered the way I was hiding strings is not very secure.  So if you have watched my video on hiding tails for this blanket, maybe add a few inches to your hiding!  I wanted very much to donate this KKC blanket to Worldbuilders, but after the tails on my other blanket kept falling out, I realized that would not be a good thing.

Second, I was keeping track of each square's yarn usage, lost receipts, and now I am unsure how much total yarn I bought, and how much total yarn would be needed for the blanket.  I will share the over estimates here, and hope you understand, in the end, you may have purchased more than you needed.  Or maybe you can buy as you go... which leads me into...

Third, See my Selas Flower?  That beautiful centerpiece to my blanket.  See that slight shading issue near a corner?  That is a dye lot change between the 2 skeins I used for the square.  And it's noticeable and it bothers me.

With my confidence so shattered I took pictures of my blanket, and tucked it in a bin with the other one I removed from my bed that is also grounded.  I tried to ignore all the bad and threw myself at my life instead.  I work, a lot, so it is easy to forget crocheting.

Until this weekend, while being forced to create a pattern for an order, because I can't find a free one I like... and I realized I have a youtube channel, a blog, and a fan page I forget about.  So, despite how scared I am in sharing skein purchasing guesses, despite the flaws in my final project, here I will share with you, links to videos, the squares, and yarn usage for the KKC Blanket.

Thank you so much for going on this journey with me.

Squares Links:

Here is a video showing how I made each square (again remember to hide your tails longer than I have).

Once I made all my squares I put it together using a Mattress Seam

When it came to the border, I used a lovely border (the Candy Cane border)  from RepeatCrafterMe.  This is not my pattern, but I am going to share her video here:

I used the Silver and Green from the blanket, sort of a tribute to Baron Greyfallow's troupe colors.

I hope you enjoyed my journey into making this beautiful C2C KingKiller blanket!  Thank you so much for reading!  If you do create your own blanket, feel free to share with me!

Thanks! -Natasha (mnopxs2)
